Apple iOS 8

Apple has officially announced iOS 8, biggest release of iOS mobile platform since the launch of App Store. It delivers a simpler, faster, more intuitive user experience and introduced new features like iCloud Photo Library, an entirely new Health app, QuickType keyboard, Family sharing and interactive notifications.

The iCloud Photo Library and Photos app gives access to all photos and videos anytime, anywhere across enabled devices. The Photos app comes with smart editing tools which can quickly adjust light and color for sharp and clear pictures. All the editing and improvements are automatically updated across all devices with the help of iCloud Photo Library. New Messages app now allows you to share your voice photos and video with a simple tap. It allows you to share multiple photos and videos at once. You can easily share your current location from within Messages for limited lime (an hour, a day or longer). iOS 8 comes with an entirely new Health app that gathers information from various different fitness and health trackers and give you all the information at one place.
The new QuickType keyboard brings predictive typing on iOS devices. It makes typing easier by suggesting contextually appropriate words to complete your sentences. Family sharing feature on iOS 8 makes it easier than ever to communicate, share photos, calendars and purchases with family members within same household. Family members can browse and download each other’s iTunes, iBooks or App Store purchases. Family sharing automatically keeps everyone connected by creating a shared family photo stream and shared calendars. Interactive notifications in new iOS 8 lets you reply any message on notifications menu. ‘Hey Siri’ is the new voice command that you can use to interact with Apple Siri. In addition to that Apple’s iOS 8 brings home automation to mass market via Homekit software platform. Apple wants to make it easier for you to control home automation devices from your iPhone and iPad.
The iOS 8 beta software and SDK are now available to download for iOS Developer Program members. The iOS 8 will be available to download this fall as a free software update for iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPod touch 5th generation, iPad 2, iPad with Retina display, iPad Air, iPad mini and iPad mini with Retina display. Apple has done a great job this time by copying the best features of all the other mobile platform and introducing them in iOS 8 as their own innovations. Stay tuned for more updates.
